Extension Board

This is a small additional PCB with:

  • two MosFets to switch something (i.e. LEDs)

  • an opto-coupler to connect a camara-activator

  • a 9V-Voltage regulator (e.g. for a videotransmitter etc.)

  • (optional) a 12V Traco (if you need stabilized 12V supply)

Is a Lipo used up to 4S a bridge can be soldered instead of using a 12V Traco.
Is the input-voltage greater (15-36V) a 12V Traco can be soldered in to provide the 12V at the outputs.
The lighting can be soldered on directly to Schalt1/GND1 or Schalt2/GND2 .

Connection

The connectors Lipo+ and Lipo- can be directly soldered to the connection line of the Lipo or in the right polarity to the power distributor.

The soldered servo-cable should be hooked up to the connector for J6/+5V/J7 of the FlightCtrl .

Examples

The two switch-outputs can be used differently. The outputs S1 and S2 can be switched directly. If you want to use the opto-coupler the output S1 is not in use.
Connecting the cables please make sure you have the right polarity. "S1"("S2") is plus (+) and "-" is minus (-).
An exception is given for connector "C-". Using the solder-bridge on the backside +5V is provided here.

If, i.e., the lighting on the Kopter should be controlled variably it can be hooked up directly to the PCB:

LED + activating a camera etc.

Activating a Canon-Ixus with CHDK-Script

Who is using a Canon Camera with CHDK can activate the camera over an USB connector (if that is supported for your camera by CHDK).
For that reason the solder-bridge on the backside has to be closed. The USB-connector is hooked up in that way:
